This afternoon while I was headed to Trastevere for work, I dropped by this chocolate fair in Piazza Sidney Sonnino. It’s not a huge event and has no more than 10 stalls set up. As today is the first day, some tents were still empty. The event runs until Sunday, 4th December and the hours are from 10.00am to midnight.
I have a feeling that towards the weekend, the activity at this chocolate fair will pick up. Even though there were only a handful of stalls, there was still a mind-boggling selection of chocolate. And some were also very artistic too.
It was all about chocolate but you also found some Sicilian desserts as well as non-chocolate related desserts. It wasn’t a big fair but there was still so much to choose from that I just didn’t know what to get. I wanted to try everything! Unfortunately (or fortunately), there was only one stall that was giving away some free samples.
When I came across these chocolate barks and I was so tempted to get one of them with what seemed like cranberries. I just love chocolate barks and have made them one Christmas together with my sister.
I managed to walk away from this chocolate fair without a whole sack of chocolate goods. I am not sure how but at the end, I figured it would be best to just get some extra dark chocolate truffles for Luca. For that, you have got to give me credit for not buying everything in sight.
The extra dark chocolate truffles passed Luca’s chocolate test and he said that it’s seriously dark to the point that I may not even like it. He was right about the “seriously dark” part but I sure liked it!
It’s small compared to other fairs but as a chocaholic, it will be enough to keep you happy. If you have some time to spare this week, drop by this chocolate fair in Trastevere.
I’m craving looking at the chocolate photo..I like eating chocolate this looks so yummy..Love it!
They had a lot of variety and knowing that you can’t buy everything, you focus on what you want the most. That helps haha.
Loveeeeee it! So glad you tasted some. Sometimes I window market shop bc they tend to get expensive but I’m not sure if I would be able to resist, yummooooo!
Hi Justine,
It was nice to browse around the fair but like you said, if you were to buy everything you see, well it gets expensive. Also it doesn’t help with the weight haha. I am sure you could have resisted! Hope you are having fun eating your way through HK!
What a range of different types, Diana! Those chocolatiers are SO creative! =) This reminds me of a tiny coffee & chocolate fair I visited in Lima the last time I was there. They even had sushi chocolate! =) Yum!
