While doing research on the Senb Hotel in Senigallia, we read the reviews on TripAdvisor and one reviewer mentioned how they liked the place because if they got lost in Senigallia, they could easily spot the hotel because of its colors.
I didn’t know if they were serious and only when we got there, we finally understood that comment. The hotel was bright fushcia!
At the end, we opted for this hotel in Senigallia because most hotels were full (at the end of August) and the alternative was in a location which was less convenient. If you are coming by car, call the hotel in advance to reserve a parking space. No mention of it was made on the website but reading the fine print on the hotel booking confirmation email, they have limited secured parking available for €10 a day.
Although you can find parking a bit further from town center, this task becomes more challenging on weekends.
Not Quite a 4-star hotel in Senigallia
While the website indicates that it is a 4-star hotel in Senigallia, I am not sure if it falls into that category. The reason is because the hotel’s facitilies are a bit old-fashioned. There is only one elevator and it was tiny. And seriously, I haven’t seen elevator buttons like those since I was a kid.
Initially when got into the elevator, my impression was “Wow, this place is seriously outdated” and when the elevator doors opened to our floor, the corridors were pitch dark. At that point, I was ready to check-out. However, I braved it out and stepped into the darkness and after a few steps, the motion detectors kicked in and the lights turned on. Phew!
When we got to the room, there was no power and called the front desk for assistance. We were told to insert the “key” in an outlet near the entrance for the lights and airconditioning to work. We are used to keycards and haven’t seen this type before.
Senb Hotel – Positive Aspects
Despite all this, a huge plus in their favor is that the room, bathroom and public areas are well-kept and clean. The rooms are not big nor are the bathrooms but I have seen smaller. Keep in mind, you are in Europe after all.
The last picture in the photo above was the view from our room. This hotel is situated between two roads and near a train station with lines about 100 metres from the hotel. In such a location, you would imagine the need for ear plugs.
Fortunately our room faced away from the train lines and we barely heard any noise at night. I am a super light sleeper so was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. I am not sure if the other rooms are noisier and when we made the booking, we had not stated any preference. It was by chance!
If you are traveling by train, the fact that this hotel in Senigallia is only a couple of minutes walk from the main station makes it easily accessible. Also, it’s a short distance to the beach where most people are headed when they are in Senigallia in summer. You have to walk through a short underpass but other than that, the walk is pleasant.
The room we booked came with breakfast and they offered a decent breakfast spread with a lot of variety. They also had cheese and cold cuts but if you are looking for bacon and eggs, you will be disappointed.
We paid €120 per room per night which includes breakfast through Booking.com and at the end of August this was still considered high season. The staff, both at the reception and restaurant, were very helpful and coupled with the clealiness of the room, we had a pleasant stay here.

This hotel is one where you should not judge “a book by its covers”. The Senb Hotel doesn’t look like much and at the beginning I was not impressed either but after the two-day stay, I would definitely stay at this hotel in Senigallia again.
